Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Tarboro. She graduated from Tarboro High School in 2003. She attended East Carolina University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her degree in Biology and Psychology. She participated in research projects at ECU in the Department of Psychology. She nominated and inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society during her senior year.
Following her undergraduate degree Dr. Taylor attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She graduated with honors in May 2011. Dr. Taylor completed several elective courses while in dental school including implantology, periodontology, pediatric emergencies, and professional ethics. She also received her Certificate in Public Health.
Following her dental education Dr. Taylor was employed by Vidant Medical Center in Greenville as a hospital dental resident. While there she completed her General Practice Residency Degree with East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in June 2012. She received additional training in IV sedation, general anesthesia, oral surgery, and hospital dentistry. Dr. Taylor entered private practice in July 2012. She attends numerous post-doctoral training and continuing education courses each year and studies at the Pankey Institute.
She is an active member of the North Carolina Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the Nash-Edgecombe-Halifax Dental Society.
Dr. Taylor is active in her community where she serves on the Edgecombe County Health and Human Services Board and the ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital Development Council.
She is married to Charles Taylor, who is also a native of Tarboro. They attend Calvary Episcopal Church and have three daughters, Eleanor Elise, Charlotte Louise and Mary Shelton. They enjoy the outdoors, especially at Lake Gaston, and traveling.
